SWAROVSKI Adds Brilliance To JEAN PAUL GAULTIER’S Haute Couture F/W16/17 Collection
Swarovski, the world leader in cut crystal and fashion jewelry, is proud to announce its latest collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier. On July 6, the iconic designer presented a nature-themed Fall/Winter 2016/17 collection at Paris Haute Couture. Three opulent Swarovski crystal-embellished gowns and bespoke crystal jewelry lit up the runway, recalling natural woodlands and forests.
Among the garments Jean Paul Gaultier unveiled at Paris Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2016 /17 were three stunning outfits that riffed on a woodland theme, richly embellished with hundreds of thousands of crystals from Swarovski. With a palette of earth colors ranging from Bordeaux to shades of green and brown, the fabrics used were sophisticated miracles of intricate delicacy reflecting the fragility of nature.
A highlight was La femme oxydantale, a stunning strapless satin tunic with matching pants, featuring a crystal transfer specially developed for the designer from a print design, and fully embroidered with thousands of hypnotic Crystal Scarabaeus Green Kaputt-cut crystals. Developed as a perfect match for the innovative Kaputt cut—the exciting new crystal collection designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for Fall/Winter 2016/17—the crystals gave the ornate fabric a shimmering metallic luster.
The opulent fruits-of-the-forest effect was accessorized with a striking statement necklace made using Crystal Scarabaeus Green.
