Sake Bar Decibel – East Village – NYC
The coolest Asian underground bar/restaurant in East Village, New York City.
Sometimes good things are hard to find, aren’t they.
From outside you rarely see this tiny place.
Just follow a sign that says “On Air”…
When you walk down the narrow stairs, you’ll enter the Sake Bar Decibel and find yourself in a little place with funky Asian decoration, dark red light rooms with writings on the walls and sake bottles as far as you can see.
There’s this underground punk flair, which makes this place a little crazy and that’s exactly why you have to like it. The tables and seats are very small, so don’t expect a lounge or anything like that. It makes it cosy though.
When it comes to the drink menu, there’s a great choice of shochu and sake of course, as well as great cocktails and Asian beers.
We ordered some Udon’s, Edamame, Shrimp Dumplings and Asian Burgers. Everything was extremely tasty and with a lot of flavour, I’m still dreaming of their food.
It’s also very fairly priced compared to other places in New York.
The Sake Bar Decibel is a great underground hotspot to visit, drink and dine when in NYC.
We highly recommend this lovely place.
They don’t accept reservations, so you should drop by and try your best. It’s worth the wait…
