Fourth Dimension – RAHUL MISHRA SS16 at #PFW
I don’t know about you but I’m a huge fan of 3D surfaces and textures, and the trend is going cleary there. When I visited the Première Vision in Paris there was an overwhelming offer of 3D fabrics. From that moment on I was really curious to see the next shows at Paris fashion week.
And here we go with Rahul Mishra Spring-Summer2016, who showed a beautiful collection with lots of 3D elements.
Genesis of all dimensions in the universe begins with a single point, Dot. And the dimensions it takes to create multi dimensional forms.
The Spring-Summer 2016 collection enables us to discover the fourth dimension enhancing 3D, with the touch of human hands.
In times when digital 3D printing throws up newer possibilities, the collection creates Neolithic vision of age-old crafts through which one can see past, present and future all at once, strung together in the shape of an ever-expanding Escher painting.
Each garment, lovingly crafted with 3D surface is developed with the touch of human hands, where the emotions of human feeling and poetry, emanates a new dimension. Visiting old age techniques combining the vanishing old hand skills and with the mastery of the craftsmen, the journey produces a superlative new imprint. This collection has an engaging dialogue of opposites; an ambiguity; where sheer & opaque, drape & structure and the play of different textures bring together a juxtaposition of different elements and shapes. Everything is done with merino wool as Rahul Mishra is the former winner of Woolmark Prize 2014.
The fourth dimension is an essential tool to revisit the past through human hands in a world ruled by technology and fight the constant time and space to look into the future – to preserve the unseen hand of the skilled artisan who painstakingly beats technology to infuse individual hand skill in creating a couture expression of the fourth dimension.
Dedication and discipline aided by detailing delves deep to bring to life a dream, in the world of 3D.
