We’ve met her personally in Paris this year and had the chance to see her beautiful creations. And then we asked ourselves, how it would be possible not to love her powerful designs… You haven’t heard of Georgine yet?

How everything startet

Goergine Ratelband graduated of the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan in 2011, directly after that she launched her own brand GEORGINE. She’s sophisitcated and loves traveling, but she’s also passionate about the sythesis of culture and femininity and divides her time between the United States, Europe and Asia.

The brands multi-continental approach inspires an electric fusion of the electricity of New York, the sensualtiy of Paris and the chaotic energy of Bangkok, which can be glimpsed in every piece of GEORGINE’s collections.

The fabrics and materials she uses are high-end and have a soft touch. I tried one of her coats and I can tell you feel powerful when wearing her clothes. We also couldn’t get our eyes off the fur hand cuffs, that pimp every outfit in a second.

For Spring/Summer 2016, GEORGINE wanted to break traditional dressing protocols and defy the conventional approach of how people normally dress. For instance, leathers are treated in pastels in lieu of the mainstream rugged dark treatment, French laces are cut into sweatshirts and active wear, and spandex is celebrated in eveningwear.

The results are subtle and surprising and inline with the Internet age where nothing is ever as it seems.
