Ceresio 7 – The Place To Be in Milan

Are you looking for a fancy, hip place in Milan? Do you like pools and rooftops?

And if you like innovative cuisine, delicious food prepared like little works of art with a hint of molecular kitchen, the CERESIO 7 Pools & Restaurant on the top of  the DSquared HQ is your spot.

When I used to live in Milan I often went to the Bulgari Hotel for Apperitvo. Drinks, and the design of the bar was remarkable. Because I was back in Milan, I was even more excited about this new place.

The venue, of course, is very fashionable, chic but relaxed and cozy.

First, we had a cocktail to start, and were seated on the right side terrace.

Our cocktails, a ‘Jasmine Pisco Sour’ and the ‘Black Eye’ (fresh strawberry purée, fresh raspberries, mint leaves, blended scotch whisky, drambuie and cranberry juice) tasted extremely good! It’s the perfect place for an Apperitivo by the pool, when the weather is great. The Italian tradition is to serve little snacks for the Aperitif, and at Ceresio 7 we had my favorite olives (young and juicy with a very smooth taste), panini with mortadella, carrot sticks, tomatoes, morzarella, salmon tartare and crisps.

The skyline was amazing; I had felt like I was on a stylish rooftop in New York. If you are a fan of the Soho Houses around the world, you will love Ceresio 7.

This trendy establishment checks all of the boxes. It is classy and elegant with an amazing ambience. It has seating in the vicinity of 2 outdoor pools.

As soon as we finished our cocktails, we sat down to our table for dinner. This place was huge! We were sitting outside on the terrace at a romantic table for two with a wonderful view of the city.

The menu offers Italian dishes interpreted with a further gourmet twist.

The kitchen is managed by Executive Chef Elio Sironi and is founded on consolidated bases throughout the years: simplicity, genuineness and respect of the client.
The distinctive signature of the Chef is the “exacting simplicity” through the rediscovering of Italian cuisine great classics, re-elaborated to value real flavours and consistency in dishes.
The unlimited quality of the ingredients and the use of the traditional cooking technique are basics for their kitchen. The wood oven and the charcoal grills are the fundamental tools to give food the distinctive and antique taste.

As a starter we took ‘Buffet a Tavola’ for two.

We were served four plates with a variety of raw fish with vegetables and fruits.

1) Krab salad, mango chutney, chili and mint leaves

2) Raw Tuna Carpaccio, melon, celery and mullet bottarga

3) Marinated salmon, sweet and sour vegetables and robiola cheese from Roccaverano

4) Cod fish, roasted red pepper and “taggiache” black olives

I would say it couldn’t get any better. The quality of the food was very high, the products were super fresh.  The decoration on the plates was a real pleasure for the eye.

Our main courses were:

Sole in almond crust, artichokes, carrott flan and meunier sauce

Shellfish stew, greens and mullet bottarga

We shared a dessert of wild strawberries, rhubarb and roses consommé.

A dream !

The staff was sympathetic and very friendly ! We won’t forget this wonderful evening at the Ceresio 7.

We took a last drink on the left side pool, a ‘Bolero sour’ (cognac, rum, triples sec, fresh orange and lime juice) and an ‘Old Fashioned’ (sugar lump, old aromatic bitter, bourbon whiskey and soda water).
