Pierre-Yves Rochon announces the inauguration of PYR’s bespoke suites for The Emory hotel.

London, July 3, 2024 – Pierre-Yves Rochon is pleased to announce the inauguration of the bespoke suites designed by the PYR studio for The Emory, a luxurious sanctuary nestled in Knightsbridge at the heart of London.

The Emory, an architectural masterpiece designed by Richard Rogers, reopens as London’s first all-suite hotel. Pierre- Yves Rochon has meticulously designed the layout and interiors of 16 suites, equally distributed between the first and second floors of the hotel, which houses a total of 61 suites. These suites come in eight distinct styles, redefining contemporary design and “quiet luxury.” Each suite boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of verdant treetops, situated in the heart of London’s artistic and fashionable district. These suites offer guests an unparalleled sense of privacy and residential tranquility.

The suites designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon blend meticulously crafted contemporary style with elements reflecting the hotel’s history and décor. These luxurious sanctuaries provide guests with a haven of relaxation and peace. Inspired by classic English style and fabrics, the interiors are reimagined with a modern touch, featuring a color palette chosen by PYR that ranges from soft ivories to deep beige and caramel tones, evoking both warmth and sophistication. The headboards are adorned with a collection of botanical and abstract art, embodying London’s eclectic mix of classic and contemporary aesthetics.
Plush wool and soft leather seating create an opulent ambiance, while blackout wool flannel curtains and fabric-covered walls offer rich textures, combining sumptuous wools, silks, leathers, and ikat. Mr. Rochon’s attention to detail is also evident in the hand-tufted and recessed bedroom carpets, which elegantly contrast with the brass and bronze finishes of the custom walnut nesting tables and textured sofa. This combination creates a lyrical harmony of surfaces, while providing multifunctional use for work or dining.

Aligned with Mr. Rochon’s signature approach, elegance seamlessly merges with functionality through integrated light satin-finished paneling, housing the entertainment center, library, desk, and dressing table. A playful niche features a unique bar with drawers filled with tempting delights. The suites are equipped with the latest custom technology for a truly exclusive experience. Organic brass pendants elegantly illuminate the niche, complemented by a sleek leather stool and an iconic antique brass floor lamp, casting a soft and welcoming light throughout the space.

Each of the smooth, lightly colored Serpeggiante marble bathrooms boasts a large sliding geometric glass door, crafted from frosted and textured glass, that separates the shower area from the living space with a freestanding bathtub. This design skillfully balances intimacy and openness, allowing diffused light to flow between spaces, enhanced by large mirrors. This thoughtful design not only improves functionality but also introduces a dimension of soft, translucent light to the sophisticated and comfortable ambiance of the PYR-designed suites.

Every corner of these bespoke suites seamlessly blends exquisite aesthetics with thoughtful functionality, offering a welcoming retreat for discerning travelers who seek a refined and immersive experience in the heart of London.

Pierre Yves Rochon describes his journey:

“With these suites at The Emory, where every detail exudes luxury, my aim was to capture the essence of English refinement by blending traditional elements with modern luxury. Each piece in these suites tells its own story, striking a graceful balance between opulence and subtlety. We have crafted an enchanting atmosphere, brimming with sophistication, that resonates with the discerning tastes of our guests.”
“Our objective for the hotel was to craft visually striking suites where details unfold like an emotional journey. The interplay of textures and the play of light are essential to a narrative that invites guests to feel, connect, and experience moments of serenity amidst urban dynamism. Our aim was to establish a sanctuary at Hyde Park Corner: hence, our suites at The Emory embody a genuine space of tranquility, offering exquisite refinement amid the vibrant pulse of London.”
