A’mare Corsica: A Haven of Tranquility and Tradition
Corsica, the mountainous island in the Mediterranean, has always been a land of contrasts. Its rugged landscapes hide deep valleys and azure bays, while its history is marked by a struggle for identity and autonomy. Amidst these beautiful and turbulent settings, the story of A’mare unfolds.
The word “A’mare” could be interpreted as “To love” or “The sea” (similar to the Italian “Amare” meaning “to love” and “Mare” meaning “sea”). Nestled in the picturesque village of Propriano, the A’mare Seaside Small Resort offers an enchanting retreat that embodies the spirit of Corsica. Propriano is nestled on the southwest coast of Corsica, known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marina.
Named after the legendary figure of A’mare, whose story of resilience and love has become an integral part of Corsican lore, the hotel provides guests with an immersive experience that blends the island’s rich heritage with modern comforts.

We were lucky enough to stay there at the end of June.
The moment when the door to our hotel room opened will remain unforgettable forever. A view over the Gulf of Valinco is worth a thousand words and the balcony invites you to enjoy unforgettable sunsets…
The white walls are reminiscent of Sardinia, or Ibiza… The colors white and blue stand out and you feel relaxed just looking at them. A lasting feeling of well-being sets in and never leaves this place.
We arrived a little early but to our delight our room was ready. After recharging our souls with the magical views from our balcony, we headed to the rooftop terrace to relax by the pool for a while before trying the RoofTop restaurant for lunch. We tried the delicious salad ‘Tricolor tomatoes, vanilla olive oil and burrata’, such a tasty experience with the freshest products. Have you ever tasted tomatoes that still have their own strong, authentic flavor? Not like the ones from the supermarket, but the ones that grow untreated in nature and have an unmistakable taste.
After lunch, we walked to the private beach right in front of the resort. The water is so clear that you can admire even the smallest fish and the incredible view of the mountains makes it an enchanting moment. We also spent some time at Portigliolo, the ideal beach for water sports: the “Ami Laurent” awaits you at its nautical base with its team of professionals. All kinds of water sports are available: foiling, water scooters, towed buoys, water skiing, kayaking, sailing, etc. By boat, the excursion can continue on the rest of the Wild Coast from Campomoro to Bonifacio via Cala Longa, Conca, Murtoli and Bonifacio.
Because lunch was so delicious, we were really curious about the menu for dinner, so we found our dream spot on the rooftop in the evening. The incredibly friendly owner suggested the traditional mixed platter (planche) with regional products. Fresh vegetables, delicious dips, juicy BBQ ribs, ceviche, octopus and tasty zuccini-tenders, accompanied by delicious cocktails and wine from the island. An unforgettable culinary moment with an unforgettable sunset.
The morning began with the curtains being drawn and the instant WOW effect that started the day. After a delicious breakfast with a view of the mountains and the sea, it was time to try out the massage. In a beautifully decorated bungalow in the garden, I listened to the birdsong and the gentle sound of the wind, which accompanied me throughout the massage.
I booked the Replenishing Facial & Intense Body Hydration (1h15) + a 30 minute full body massage. It may be hard to hear for others whose massages we have already tried, but without exaggerating, this was one of the best massages of my life.
Afterwards I felt like I was on a cloud and my whole body and soul were in harmony.
But that wasn’t all: before lunch I had a 40-minute stretching session with the personal trainer from A’mare, which took place right next to the massage bungalow, under the palm trees, between the rays of the sun and the view of the glittering sea.
A’mare supplies beach bags, towels, umbrellas, masks and beach toys for children! A’mare rewrites the word well-being. It is not just a hotel but a whole universe dedicated to well-being, with incredible offers for all tastes.
As our stay came to an end, I found myself reflecting on the wonderful moments and the tranquility we experienced at A’mare Corsica Seaside Resort. The resort’s amenities exceeded my expectations and it was a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and luxury. I left with a sense of rejuvenation and a deep appreciation for the beauty of Corsica.
I look forward to returning to A’mare Corsica Seaside Resort in the future and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and enchanting seaside getaway.
