Prada Frames 2025: Where Design, Power, and Imagination Travel First Class
It’s not a runway, and yet it’s impeccably styled. It’s not an art fair, yet the ideas are sculptural. And it’s certainly not your average design symposium – because Prada has never been one to follow convention.
Returning for its fourth and most ambitious edition, Prada Frames 2025 invites thinkers, designers, and visionaries to board a journey like no other: “In Transit”, a moving exploration of infrastructure, movement, and power – quite literally set aboard a vintage Gio Ponti-designed train.
Yes, you read that right. This isn’t just a symposium. It’s a living, breathing, moving concept, one that places you, quite literally, on the tracks of transformation.
In the ever-evolving dialogue between fashion, architecture, technology, and politics, Prada Frames stands as a rare, refined moment of pause – a space where intellect and elegance meet, and where asking the right questions matters more than arriving at answers.
Curated by the visionary design duo Formafantasma, In Transit is less a conference and more a three-day cultural voyage held alongside Salone del Mobile, where disciplines collide with delightful friction. Discussions unfold within two extraordinary spaces: the Arlecchino train, a restored 1950s marvel of aerodynamic luxury, and the Padiglione Reale of Milan’s Central Station—a once-private lounge for royalty, now a salon for collective insight.
Because who says deep thinking can’t be impossibly chic?
The 2025 edition looks at infrastructure not as a fixed thing, but a living force – shaping our world through movement, restriction, contradiction. The sessions? As sharply curated as a Prada show.
Power, surveillance, and control flow through one panel. Another examines the friction between the mobility of goods and the immobility of people. From AI-powered cities to data centers rising from old military bases, from ancient wind routes to space-age systems, this isn’t just about design. It’s about how design reveals – and sometimes reinvents—the world beneath our feet and beyond our skies.
Each talk is contextualized by the ever-brilliant Alice Rawsthorn and brought to life by thinkers like Paola Antonelli, Kate Crawford, Hito Steyerl, and Ersilia Vaudo – names as revered in the world of ideas as Prada is in the world of style.
And as always, there’s beauty in the unexpected. Imagine boarding a train where instead of overhead announcements, you’re swept into a conversation on edible infrastructure or planetary navigation. One moment, it’s about trade logistics. The next, speculative fiction as a design tool. The transitions are seamless, and the journey is unforgettable.
Prada Frames has always been a space where fashion sheds its skin and re-emerges as philosophy – and this year’s theme proves it again. In Transit is not just about how we move, but how we think, how we build, how we belong.
Because in a world rushing forward, Prada dares to slow down – and listen.
