A Woman’s Education Never Looked This Chic – Welcome to Miu Miu’s Most Brilliant Chapter Yet
Miu Miu’s Literary Club Is Back—And It’s the Most Stylish Education You’ll Ever Get
Back for its second edition this April, the Miu Miu Literary Club: A Woman’s Education lands at the Circolo Filologico Milanese, transforming Milan’s most historic intellectual salon into a two-day crash course in everything you should have learned as a woman—but probably didn’t.
Because if we’re honest, the real education happens between the pages they don’t assign.
The Curriculum Is Female
This year’s theme, A Woman’s Education, isn’t just a nod to textbooks – it’s a rethink of the entire syllabus.
Day one dives into *Simone de Beauvoir’s The Inseparables—a story so intimate, she kept it locked away during her lifetime. It’s girlhood with all its messy tenderness: best friends, boundaries, and the quiet construction of identity.
Day two brings us to Fumiko Enchi, whose The Waiting Years unravels female silence and sacrifice in post-Meiji Japan with a blade-sharp elegance. These aren’t just novels. They’re blueprints of womanhood—decoded, dismantled, and defiantly re-read.
Where Literature Meets Lightning
What makes Miu Miu’s Literary Club wildly refreshing is that it’s not a panel parade. It’s a salon with voltage.
Curated by writer Lou Stoppard and poet-activist Kai Isaiah Jamal, the event invites a powerhouse lineup to take the mic and disrupt everything you thought you knew about gender, intimacy, legacy, and liberation.
Expect brilliance from:
– Geetanjali Shree, Booker Prize winner and global literary force
– Lauren Elkin, translator, author, and sharp-edged feminist observer
– Naoise Dolan, Nicola Dinan, Veronica Raimo, Sarah Manguso—each unafraid to say the quiet part out loud
There’ll be poetry. Live music. And conversations that feel like espresso shots for the mind—with a Miu Miu twist, of course.
A Feminist Reboot, But Make It Fashion
Yes, the fits will be major. (Is it really a Miu Miu moment without at least one micro-mini?) But don’t mistake the style for surface. This is feminism in full silhouette—chic, sharp, and intellectually disobedient.
In a world where women are still taught to shrink, the Miu Miu Literary Club dares to ask: What if we took up space—in literature, in legacy, in life—and looked impeccable while doing it?
Final Chapter? Not Even Close.
If you’ve ever underlined a sentence that cracked your heart open, or worn red lipstick as armor, this one’s for you.
Because this isn’t just about books. It’s about power. Voice. And rewriting the narrative of what women are “allowed” to learn.
See you in Milan. Bring your brain. Wear something fearless.
