A Mysterious SS16 with VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO at #PFW
We’re very privileged to have seen the VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO Spring-Summer 2016 show at Paris fashion week, as it was one of the most beautiful collections of the week.
It was pure and mysterious, feminine and seductive…
A true joy for the eye.
The collection features traditional tailoring, basic natural materials, voluminous circle shapes and craftsmanship techniques.
A play between tradition and modernity is a red line throughout the collection.
Transparent blazers and trousers expose their usually hidden classical craftsmanship. Sartorial materials, such as horsehair clash with a technological shell fabric, whose transparency gives a fragile feeling to the garments.
Natural materials in their authentic colours define the base of the colour card.
Handmade crochet and long fringes are added to blouses and dresses in strong contrasting colours, natural ivory is combined with a black or primary red.
Soft pastel shades are introduced in the voluminous circle skirts and dresses that are divided into geometric panels, creating a fade out rainbow.
Prints with fauna and flora from the forest pick up on a dark romantic atmosphere. Owls, fawns and poisonous flowers are composed in a geometric manner. It is a hide-and-seek between monochrome and printed, plain and plisse fabric.
A romantic femininity appears in delicate tulle blouses with ruffles that refer to the Victorian era.
Magnifique.
